HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII EVERYONE! *waves frantically* I’m so sorry that I haven’t had any illustration-doodley-sketchy-drawing-scribbles-visual eye candiness- for you all for baaaaaaaaasically half a year  (so it seems)… o.O’. I know I said I’d be better about that.
I have been swamped with this one children’s book project for a long time now and can finally see the light at the end of this deep, dark tunnel!!!! Please bare with me a little bit longer! I’m almost done! And soon, this blog will be booming with some awesome stuff straight out of the Ness-n-Sketch corner. ^-^
*ahem* Well anyways.. I was feeling really bummed out about not having a lot of sketches uploaded …so I decided to do a quick caricature of me and two of my friends. We three are huge fans of Little Kuriboh’s “Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series” and I told them years ago that I’d do a caricature of us as the protags from the “Bonds Beyond Time Abridged Movie.” We voted on who would be whom: I’m Yugi, Kiara is Jaden and Jacob is Yusei. Sorry, it took like three… (or four??) years to put this idea on paper, y’all! Hope you like it. I plan to color it digitally, whenever I take another breather from my main work.
A million thanks for baring with me all this time. Much love. Good night/morning! ^-^

Here is the last of my Christmas Caricature series!!!

Katie, Terresa, and Jhamie love to watch old Christmas cartoons and movies during the holiday season.

This series was based on answers to a survey question I asked on my Facebook illustration page: http://www.facebook.com/VanessaJThompsonIllustrationandDesign
These are all relatively quick sketches and even quicker digital colorings… Technical aspects of these illustrations are not exact… and were never meant to be. These were all simply for the enjoyment of creating caricatures of friends, and are meant as gifts of appreciation to my friends for their love and support of me and my work.

…Now that the 2011 caricatures are done… I can get on to 2012! Cheers!

I was finally able to finish coloring the last page out of the five that make up my large birthday illustration measuring 70” x 17” . This is a caricature of myself and some of my friends gathered together to celebrate my birthday (imaginatively). ^_^’

So… my birthday is in t-minus 1 day… and here’s the first page of my Imaginative Birthday Party illustration. :) I’m going to create a giant 14” x 17” birthday card from these illustrations.
I’ll color it digitally some time down the road… I don’t want to hurt myself like I did over this weekend drawing all 102 characters… ~_~’

Recap of the caricatures of my friends, I’ve done so far in watercolor in my ness-n-sketch sessions! Done in this order 1, 3, 4, 2. ^-^ I plan to redo 3 and 4 because I rushed them and did them on practice watercolor paper instead of  on the good stuff… ^-^’

**Pink Panther and Washu from Tenchi Muyo DO NOT belong to me and no copyright infringement is intended. **

I didn’t feel too well today… I think it’s the SC heat and the slight trouble of getting enough sleep that’s getting to me. Anyways, after a little “nap” in the middle of the day, I decided to force myself to paint something because I haven’t been doing as much watercolor work as I should be. Anyways, looking at the funny pictures of my boyfriend and myself wearing strange hats at Books-A-Million, made me want to draw a caricature of us. And so… here it is.
His caricature suits him so well, mine on the other hand… meh. Anyhow.. it was a very fun piece to work on, and it brightened up my spirits after feeling crummy all day…
It makes me giggle when I look at it. I might frame it!
Media: pencil, Water Soluble Oil Pastels (from the land where unicorns roam) and watercolor paint on Fabriano Artistico Rough paper.

Eeny Meeny Miny Mo… which image should I color yo?

Lol… ^-^ I chose to color all of them simultaneously! Here’s what I’ve done tonight. I’ll have to finish the rest next week ( I’ll be working doubles at my part time job for the next few days…so yeah.. not much time for digital coloring… :(  ).

Enjoy.
